BWIT: President Rezwana Khan, General Secretary Achia Nila

Rezwana Khan, CEO of Star Computers System Limited and Achia Khaleda Nila, Founder and Managing Director of Women in Digital, have been elected as the President and General Secretary of the newly elected Executive Committee (2023-2025) of Bangladesh Women in Technology (BWIT). As there was no competition in the election, this executive committee consisting of 13 members was elected unopposed. Nazneen Kamal, managing director of Anupam Infotech, Rumesa Hossain, director of PwC, and Professor of North South University Computer Science and Engineering Department, were elected vice presidents in the three categories of Entrepreneur, Corporate and Professional respectively. Nova Ahmed, Assistant Professor of Computer Science and Engineering Department of Jagannath University was elected as joint editor. Selina Sharmin, Nazmus Saleheen, founder of Saleheen & Associates, has been elected as treasurer. In addition, Dhaka University's robotics and Mechatronics Engineering department professor Dr. Lafifa Jamal, Nazneen Nahar, Managing Director of Tech-Solutions, Kaniz Fatema, CEO of BDoNS, Reem Shamsuddoha, Director of Dohatech new media, Taslima Akhter, Project Manager of Dohatech new media and Farnaz Narine Noor, Associate Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Notre Dame University, Bangladesh. Bangladesh Women in Technology has been working since 2012 to increase the participation of women in technology and develop their skills. Over the past few days, BWIT, the country's only IT-based organization for women, led by founder Luna Shamsuddoha, has worked with various organizations including SME Foundation, ICT Division, a2i to increase women's participation and skill development in IT. Newly elected president Rezwana Khan joined Star Computers Systems Limited as a director after completing her studies in Computer Science from North South University in 2004. Later, in 2007, he did a Masters in Software Engineering from the University of British Columbia and a fellowship from the University of Southern Queensland, Australia. In the meantime, under his leadership, Star Computers took another step forward. It is she who added the World Bank, many international NGOs, ICT Division of Bangladesh Government, a2i, ADB and other important organizations and institutions to the list of service recipients of this organization. She outsourced technical services to Brunei, USA, in countries like Miami and America. She is one of the successful women technologists and entrepreneurs in the country. Through dedication and efficiency he was promoted as Managing Director in 2018. With over 17 years of experience in the IT industry, Rezwana Khan has specialized in successfully implementing enterprise, e-governance, and human resource and skill development projects. She was also associated with BASIS as a member of the Advisory Standing Committee. Asia Khaleda Neela is quite popular as an IT entrepreneur and IT technologist in home and abroad. After graduating from United International University in Computer Science and Engineering in 2007, Neela emerged as an IT entrepreneur. In 2012, she established her own organization 'Women in Digital'. Besides making girls interested in information technology, the work of her organization is to build a smart Bangladesh by increasing their capacity. In the last 9 years, 'Women in Digital' has trained nearly 12,000 women across the country. In addition to training, Neela's organization also provides support to empower women and make them economically independent by using information technology. Women in Digital's partner digital agency LuminaDev's women workforce develops web applications, mobile applications, for clients in the US, UK, Japan and Australia. She worked on creating gaming software, block chain technology. She is affiliated with ITU, IGF and acting as a mentor and judge to meet.
